PeeWees Win Championship

 

My grandson Jax is on the Peewee football team

 and my husband Kelly is the head coach.

The team won the North Cascade  League division this past weekend.

They were so excited as you can see from the above picture.

This is my grandson and this picture was also the Photo of the day in the local paper.

This group of kids and coaches worked so hard and it all paid off last weekend.

They had to get up early and ride a ferry over to the mainland to play.

My daughter Darcey was the team mom kept the excitement going even after the game by having everyone meet at Jump place. The energy these kid have is amazing!

New Farm Additions

We added 3 Babydoll Southdown lambs to our farm.

They are so sweet and are always smiling!

They are Bernice LaFleece, Dolly Madison and Sir Lambsalot.

We are so excited to have them join our Fiber Farm!

New Additions

We are so excitted to be adding some new animals to our farm!

Babydoll Southdown Sheep!

This is Bernice LaFleece  and she looks so happy.

This is Dolly Madison (her mother's name is Cupcake)

She look like a gentle old soul

This handsome guy is Sir Lambsalot

He is going to be so fun for our grandson Jackson to take care of.

He will be going  with us to pick them up but he doesn't know yet one is for him!

Babydoll Southdown produce a medium fine wool that we are planning to add to our alpaca fiber. Should be soooo soft.

 These sheep are known for not challenging fencing and being easy on their environments. Babydolls are often used in orchards and vineyards for mowing grass and cleaning up fallen fruit without damaging trees and plants. These small sheep require less space than their larger counterparts. Their gentle attitudes also makes them great companion animals for families wanting a more docile breed of livestock.

We can't wait to bring home these sweet animals.

San Juan Islands

I have gotten several emails asking where I live and to post pictures.

I live in the San Juan Islands, on the furthers away island in Friday Harbor.

This is a picture from a plane looking down at the islands.

To get here you need to ride a ferry. 

But the view getting here is wonderful! I really enjoy the ferry rides. They are very peaceful and calming. And the scenery is to die for.

Sometimes if you are lucky you are the car in the front.

When that happens I just stay in my car and pretend I am driving the boat!

I always get us there just fine.....lol

I just love watching these funny birds while you wait for the ferry to pull out.

Leap Of Faith

 

This is my story of a leap of faith.

I moved to the San Juan Islands from Utah about 7 months ago. I sold my home, left my kids and grand kids and took on a new job.

 But I moved to Paradise with my Husband!

The San Juan Islands are one of the most beautiful place EVER!

If I ever question my decision I just go for a drive.

The picture above is my new back yard ....or so it will be in 2 weeks when we close on our new place.

This blog will bring you on my journey.

We will be redoing a house into a "Cottage in the Woods" and sharing all of the things we will be learning and doing along the way.

I hope you stop by often I am sure I can use some advice  from time to time....

I went from the suburbs to the woods...

This will be so exciting...at least I am hoping so.
